Generally speaking, in American society, um, people tell a few simple jokes in their opening remarks. Uh, this kind of talk, lets people relax a little at the opening of a meeting. Uh, then you begin to talk about the issues. Now I know that in Chinese society, people are more serious about a lot of issues. Uh, they’ll say, uh, uh, there’s a given, uh, issue that they’ll think of to talk about. I think, uh, that when the two nations are exchanging opinions, ah, I think, um, there has to be a predetermined issue [to talk about]. That’s right. But, at the start, there’s no harm in a little, um, being a little more relaxed. This kind of thing [joke] makes everything in the meeting move forward a little more easily. Uh, I think this is an important beginning. Say that at the beginning, um, you make people relax. It’s easier to deal with the other things that come up. Now of course when a meeting’s actually underway, there will be moments of friction. Then, then the two sides can’t avoid the necessity of a process of negotiation. And during these negotiations, um, you and I should know what each other’s interests are. Um, you can’t possibly have one side always win and the other always lose. Um, so, we usually know, say, uh, how much each side should get. This is really important. Uh, finally, uh, at the start, there’s no need to make the atmosphere tense right off the bat. Loosening up a bit will make the whole process have a good outcome. That’s how I see it. | 在美国这个社会里面呢,一般来讲,啊,在开场白的时候会讲一些很简单的笑话,啊,这样的话, 使这个开会的程序给人家的是好像很轻松一点,啊, 然后开始进入正题。那我知道在中国社会里面,就很多问题就比较严肃,啊,他就说,啊,啊,就有一定,啊,议题想起来讨论。我想,啊, 在两国之间的交换意见的时候,啊, 我想,嗯, 一定有要有一个一定的议题。那是没有错。可是呢,开始的时候不妨呢要稍微,嗯,比较轻松一点。这样的话,使会议各方面进行呢比较容易一点。啊,啊,啊,我想这个就是一个很重要的开始。假如开始,嗯,的时候,嗯,给人家感觉很轻松,那其他的问题呢就比较容易。那当然在进行会议的时候,有时候会产生一些摩擦的问题,那, 那,避免不了双方需要有一个谈判的过程。在谈判的过程里面应该知道,嗯, 你我双方的利益在哪里。嗯,是不可能说一方面只有说赢家,另外一方是输家,嗯,所以我们常常了解,就说,啊, 哪边是该得到多少利益,这是非常重要的。啊,总而言之,啊,在开始的时候,哦,不必一开始就好像把这个气氛弄的很紧张。稍微轻松一点,这样会对整个过程呢都非常有好处的。就是这样。 |
